Looking Up

3 January the Quadrantid meteor shower peaks. The zenithal hourly rate (ZHR) of this shower, with its radiant in the northern regions of the constellation of Boötes, can be quite high. For mid-northern hemisphere observers, the radiant is circumpolar, meaning it's above the horizon all night long.
