Suspected discovery
|
|
Today 7 March, while compiling a guide that will be part of the upcoming CSOG Reflection Nebulae editions, I stumbled upon a relatively bright reflection nebula in Auriga. The brightest part involves several stars, the brightest of which is mag. 12.7 4UCAC625-025815. Fainter nebulosity extends towards the southwest. The position is 24 minutes of arc northeast of the faint emission nebula Simeis 142.

To the best of my knowledge, this nebula is uncataloged. I added it as nr. 361 to my list of possible discoveries.
